An interesting bit of news hit me in the face on, 3/27/2014, on MSN. The headline of the news item was, “ U.S. Autism Estimates Rise By 30 Percent For Kids”. What is most interesting is that there does not seem to be any explanation for this growing malady today. Why are we so ignorant today about a growing problem in our society?
The answer for our ignorance on the causes of autism could be the simple fact that the Republicans with President Bush in the 2007 budget cancelled a study on autism that was started in 2000 involving a 100,000 kids until they were twenty-one. This important study would have lasted over twenty years and the total cost would have been 2.7 billion dollars.
It is so very important that we look at the Republican mind set before the next election. This expense of 2.7 billion over 21 years was to help us, Americans, and our children, cope with, and understand autism, this study was deemed unnecessary by the Republicans.
One might say that 2.7 billion is a lot of money even over 21 years, but this amount shrinks to nothing when you compare the money wasted on the Republican orchestrated needless wars in Iraq, 4 trillion, Afghanistan, 2 billion per week for ten years.
This imbalance in our budget allocations show the Republican Party as a party of warmongering maggots led by the so called neo-cons, ( we should find out who the neo-cons are ), these maggots do not care about people. The Republicans spew lies about the importance of family values and being pro-life yet lead us into needless wars that kill people. We should also ask ourselves what could have been done for our own people in creating jobs, cancer research, autism, and education with the trillions of our tax dollars wasted on needless wars. We should consider the priorities that the Republicans have before any election. What have these maggots done to help humanity?
