How hard is it to balance the budget, and not on American backs?
Our politicians are jumping around and giving us a great show on their attempts to impress us with their efforts to balance the budget. They got the message from the Tea Party movement that something should be done about our national debt.
Park services are closed down, museums are only open a few days per week, Public Radio is threatened as are the Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security. It seems the cutbacks are all aimed at the American people. Totally ignored are huge expenditures on 1000 foreign military bases. There are 268 of these military bases in Germany alone. They are not needed. These bases cost America 250 billion per year of our tax money, and borrowed Chinese money
The war in Iraq according to an article in the Washington Post dated September 5, 2010 will cost us over three trillion dollars of our tax money and borrowed Chinese money. This is a war we got lied into by a group of neocons who told us that there were WMD‘s, weapons of mass destruction. There were no WMD‘s, we never brought to trial the liars who got us into the war. President Bush also estimated that the cost of the Iraq war would be between 50-60 billion, and he still shows his face in public
Also ignored is the useless war in Afghanistan that is costing us two billion per week for twelve years. This expenditure is with borrowed money or our tax dollars..
All the war expenditures and foreign base money should be spent in America on American people. This country has no right to do nation building when we are broke and cutting back on services for our own people that pay the taxes.
